Philippa Thompson selection as Prospective Parliamentary Candidate

Members of Preseli Pembrokeshire Labour Party voted to select Philippa Thompson as their PPC at a hustings in Victoria Hall in Roch on Sunday 8th July 2018. Philippa stood at last year’s General Election coming a close second against Conservative MP, Stephen Crabb, turning this constituency back into a key marginal seat. Philippa said “I am delighted to have been selected to fight this seat again for Labour by winning the trust of local party members.  The next General Election may well be a few years away but given the current turmoil in the Conservative Party it could be at any moment and I’m ready to get out across our county again to explain to people why a vote for me would mean better choices than the Tories’ failed political choice of austerity which has hit hardest those who can afford it least.  Families struggling on minimum wage jobs with zero-hours contracts , people forced to rely on food banks because of the roll-out of the disastrous roll-out of Universal Credit which cannot be right in 2018, especially as the UK is ranked as one of the world’s richest countries and I am determined to do something about it.”
