Preseli Pembrokeshire Consituency

Located in South-West Wales, Preseli Pembrokeshire is a constituency made up of six branches located in the upper half of the county.

In modern times the constituency has seen Stephen Crabb (Conservative) represent them in parliament. But the Labour party are working hard to regain the seat, reducing his vote lead to only 314 votes in the 2017 General Election.

The Constituency Labour Party (CLP) hosts a number of events throughout the Constituency for members to get involved with. Their are a mixture of Branch Meetings, All Member Meetings and other Events and Functions. There are also a number of fundraising and campaigning opportunities, which together aim towards making our constituency a great place to be.

Branches and Meetings

The Labour Party is split up into a number of different branches that meet regularly with their own agendas and events, each Branch has their own set of officers. You can find out more about individual branches by clicking through to their pages.

Fishguard and Goodwick Branch
Haverfordwest and Johnston Branch
Milford Haven Branch
Neyland Branch
Preseli Branch
Solva and St Davids Branch

All-Member meetings (AMMs) are usually the most interesting! These are open to all members of the Preseli Pembrokeshire Constituency party. There will often be a bit of CLP business to take care of, a motion or two and a debate about a relevant topic. Everyone is welcome and we hope that new members will attend and take part too.

Branch meetings are smaller meetings and tend to be more informal, they are also welcome to everybody. For voting rights you will need to be a member.

The Executive Commitee (EC) meetings are where the more mundane CLP business is dealt with, and usually relate to the organisational side of the party.

Team and Representatives

The Labour Party is represented at a number of levels in Preseli Pembrokeshire. The CLP is organised by volunteers who work together through their different roles to organise and carry out certain tasks set on a regional and national level. Their is an elected Executive Committee of Officers and Coordinators with their own responsibilities, they meet regularly to ensure that the party is running how it should be at a Constituency level.

Preseli Pembrokeshire also has two Assembly Members, they are Regional Assembly Members for Mid and West Wales, Eluned Morgan and Joyce Watson. As Assembly Members they work as part of the Welsh Assembly ensuring that the needs of our Constituency are voiced on a national level in the Senedd.

There are also a number of Labour councillors that have been elected as Councillors in our County Council. Pembrokeshire County Council contains councillors from both Preseli Pembrokeshire, and South Pembrokeshire and West Carmarthenshire Constituencies.
